The first location of the restaurant franchise Pares Retiro opened in 1989. They offer traditional dishes such as pares and pres tendon. It was in 1979 when Lolita Tiu and Roger Tiu opened the carinderia Jonas in the area formerly known as Calle Retiro. It is where the name “Pares” is believed to have originated.
