In the first month of 1997, Gilligan’s Island Restaurant & Bar opened its doors. The surname Giligan was created by combining their father’s given name, Guillermo, with the title of an old television show called Gilligan’s Island.

The owner’s family was already busy with catering and wholesale business before Giligan’s was established. All of their satisfied customers encouraged them to open a restaurant where everyone, at any time, can partake of their special brand of cuisine. Soon after, they formed the Alquiros Food Corporation with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The initial location of the Restaurant, on Katipunan Avenue in Blue Ridge, Quezon City, was a huge success. It allowed them to expand into new locations. Giligan’s Restaurant has over a hundred locations across the country and is still growing.

The interior of Giligan’s Restaurant is lavishly decorated with a nautical theme. Most of the artwork is a curated collection of pieces from international travels and museum visits.
