Figaro Coffee Menu Prices Philippines 2023
Figaro Coffee is a franchised coffee shop and cafe brand based in the Philippines. It had 63 locations throughout the Philippines, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Papua New Guinea as of September 2013. In 2020, there were ninety Figaro Coffee shops in the world.
Back in 1993, long before any of the major coffee chains had set up shop in Manila, a group of coffee enthusiasts got together and dreamed of opening a cafe where they could hang out with friends and entertain clients, a place where they could get what they wanted: excellent coffee, delicious pastries, and friendly service. This vision eventually created the foundation for what is now known as Figaro Coffee.

Figaro History
In November 1993, seven college friends, including Pacita “Chit” Juan and Reena Francisco, opened a modest kiosk in the Glorietta mall in Makati called Figaro Coffee, selling freshly ground coffee and tea accessories. Juan and Francisco went to school together in the Philippines, where Juan majored in the hospitality industry. Juan, who had started a coffee shop while still in college but had since been involved in the family business, decided to reopen it.
The initial location was dubbed “the F store” and had a management team of just three people. The store sold various coffee and tea accessories, including whole beans to be processed at home. After a tumultuous first few months, the proprietors finally settled on a name for their coffee business. Based on the opera Barber of Seville, the company’s founders settled on the moniker “Figaro” in April 1994. To provide Filipinos with “the perfect coffee and all the necessary accouterments for coffee making,” Juan and her friends decided to open a coffee shop.
Juan first met Father Roger Bagao, a Tagaytay City priest and coffee farmer who ran a cooperative for local growers, in 1998. As part of their “Save the Barako” campaign, Figaro Coffee introduced Cafe Barako in 1999. At roughly the same time, the Figaro Foundation was established to assist coffee producers in making a living from their trade.
Figaro Coffee expanded internationally in 2005 when it launched a shop in Shanghai. By the middle of 2006, Figaro had expanded to 53 locations across the Philippines, most of which were in Metro Manila. Figaro Coffee announced intentions to go public on the Makati Stock Exchange in 2006 and again in 2009, but the IPO has yet to happen. Figaro Coffee opened its doors in the city of Cebu in December of 2006, and in 2007 it expanded to 13 locations.
Figaro Coffee Systems, Inc. changed hands from F Coffee Holdings Corporation to The Figaro Coffee Group Inc. on June 21, 2021. Angel’s Pizza and Tien Ma’s, a Taiwanese restaurant, are just two of the many brands that FGC owns and operates.
