Quick History
Cinnabon is a chain of stores and kiosks in America that sells baked goods, usually located in busy areas like malls, airports, and rest stops. The cinnamon roll is their most famous product. As of December 2017, they have over 1,200 bakeries in 48 countries, with their headquarters in Sandy Springs, Georgia, in the United States.
In early 1985, Rich and Greg Komen, a father and son team, collaborated with a skilled baker to create the best cinnamon roll in the world from scratch. Despite several failed attempts and many months of effort, the trio was finally able to concoct the perfect recipe using top-quality ingredients sourced from various countries.
Their vision came to fruition on December 5th when they opened the first Cinnabon bakery in Seattle’s Sea-Tac Mall to a large crowd of excited customers. The original cinnamon roll, drizzled with their distinct frosting, was an immediate success and didn’t require the addition of ice cream to make it more enjoyable. It quickly became a popular dessert across America.
Their enticing scent has been present in the Philippines since 1999 through CANELLE FOOD CORPORATION (CAFCO), which possesses the sole franchise of Cinnabon in the country. Launching the initial bakery in Robinsons Place Manila in October 1999 was a significant achievement, marking the first Cinnabon Bakery in Asia.
