This dish is a staple of the daily merienda sold by roving vendors, also known as “maglalako.” Traditionally, pancit habhab is served on banana leaves and is consumed directly off the leaf. The dish can be made significantly more flavorful by pouring vinegar over it before eating.

Buddy’s Pancit Lucban History
In 1985, Salvador Veluz, whose nickname is used for the restaurant, opened the doors of the first location, a burger house, in his birthplace of Lucban. At the time, he had no clue that the restaurant would grow to become the successful franchise that it is today. The Pahiyas Festival in Quezon is a celebration of a bountiful harvest that honors the feast of St. Isidore the Laborer on May 15. Buddy’s is most well-known for its interiors, which the Pahiyas Festival inspired. The restaurant chain Buddy’s, famous for delicacies such as lumpiang ubod and spaghetti, has expanded to seventeen locations across the country.
