Barcino History

When it first opened its doors in 2004, Barcino was a modest wine and tapas bar that included only two tables for patrons. During that period, there were no quaint establishments in the Philippines where one could enjoy Spanish wine at a very reasonable price. It was due to the fact that the majority of wines from the ancient world were priced excessively. 2006 saw the expansion of the first location, which was followed by the consolidation of the Barcino brand.

The name “Barcino” comes from the Latin word for Barcelona, which is the capital of the Catalan population in Spain. It is also the place where the founders of this region began their efforts to bring an authentic taste of our homeland to this region. We are bringing to Cebu the most important cultural heritage of Spain, which is its gastronomy. A harmonic gourmet adventure of true Spanish cuisine combined with the rich and diversified food culture of Cebu is created by their chefs through the use of ancient Spanish techniques in the creation of these meals.
